Developing Web Pages with TV HTMLAttract TV Surfers from WebTV and NetChannelby Joseph T. Sinclair This book was written to help people make their Web pages compatible with Web TV and its competitors. Its competitors went out of business almost immediately, and Web TV (purchased by Microsoft) has never lived up to its promise. It has less than 2 million users today, and most Web developers ignore Web TV. The book was the the recommended book for the first Web Consortium workshop on Television and the Web held in Sophia-Antipolis, France, in June, 1998. The book contains a lot of technical information on television and computer monitor displays explained in non-technical language. It also contains a lot of conceptual information on television/Web systems, again explained in non-technical language. If you are developing Web pages for cable television Web systems, some of which have huge audiances, you will find the information in the book particularly useful (and perhaps not readily available elsewhere).
