Internet v. Lotus Notesby Joseph T. Sinclair and David G. HaleWe had three objectives when we wrote this book, published in 1996. One was to show that you could achieve much of the functionality of Lotus Notes by using simple Internet programs such as email. Second was to provide ideas on how to use Internet programs for many different activities. Third was to write the clearest explaination of Lotus Notes possible so that people could understand what it had to offer. This book was way ahead of its time in the ideas it contained. My wife who works at Cheveron in training still comes home with the latest digital idea of the day at least several times a year. And I say, "Yes, that's in my 1996 book. You should have read it." Critics labeled it a Lotus Notes bashing book, which it was never intended to be. Today most people use Internet programs rather than Lotus Notes, but Lotus Notes continues to be a valuable software system. Thus, I think the book is useful for those seeking to understand how they can use the Internet for work and collaboration and also for those who are faced with trying to understand Lotus Notes.
